Where Will Legal Sportsbooks Across The U. S. Recruit Their Employees?

We're talking many states, many books, lots of employees.

Won't they prefer experience in the field of posting lines, accepting, securing & grading wagers, and so on?

Some will come from Nevada.

Will Offshore employees flock to the states?

This is all hypothetical for now, of course.

I would think only someone that wanted to leave Nevada anyway would go to another state; unless big bucks in the picture..no idea really.

Maryland would be an easy ride for me in Va. Virginia lost their one race track a few years ago mainly due to the legislature failing to pass casino wagering in the state... It's a shame, but maybe it will be revisited. What I can't exactly figure out is Delaware. Would they be forced to stay with parlay wagering..I would think not, but would the whole process have to go back through the state legislature... That's always the hold up.

I think this is a case of technology moving faster than regulation. The blockchain sportsbook concept that chop mentioned in the WhiteyBulger thread isn't very far off. This would allow people to bet on sports with juice reduced by 70-80% pretty easily.

So then all the middlemen don't get paid which is the entire point of legalizing sportsbetting, then what happens? Do they regulate the technology out of existence?

I think this is a case of technology moving faster than regulation. The blockchain sportsbook concept that chop mentioned in the WhiteyBulger thread isn't very far off. This would allow people to bet on sports with juice reduced by 70-80% pretty easily.

So then all the middlemen don't get paid which is the entire point of legalizing sportsbetting, then what happens? Do they regulate the technology out of existence?

How soon do you see blockchain getting involved with sports betting, etc.....when PASPA is over turned in March or April, I see Pa, NJ, DE & several other states have g sports betting before NFL season starts.

Several states will be up & running before NFL season kicks off......we may see some with baseball & word cup soccer.

Only ones I don't see starting this year are the states that haven't passed a bill yet.

I tried to find a good writeup on it and was going to link it, but most of the articles were just shilling for the current blockchains/coins that deal with this stuff, and none of them arent very good yet.

But probably sooner than later, it's just a very easy application of blockchain technology.

Some good questions there Hache.......you would think Pa, NJ & other big casino states will get people that know how to run a sports book.........

Pennsylvania leads the country in revenue from “sin taxes” and even surpasses Nevada in total tax revenue generated from gambling........I see Pa getting the ball rolling quick & they will compromise on the taxing sports bets......no way will it be as high as they want, it will be between 7% & 9%.

I read an article today stating that Penn National/Hollywood casinos want sports betting not cuz of the revenue, cuz its not much, but cuz it brings in a lot of people to play table games, spend money on food & alcohol, etc .......

I think each state will stand on it's own...the numbers may be fairly similiar for most events.. If what you are suggesting (and I'm not sure I understand it) happens that sounds wonderful...But...this is just putting their toes in the water for most states... If Nevada could be a hub and anyone could bet into it, wow!

They will hire low pay front wnd employees.

Some higher ups will get paid moderately, some Vegas managers will get moved up in other locations.

No one will show any innovation besides some with an inside track at Circa.

if they have those lottery kiosks at every gas station and grocery store why not a FanDuel or Draft kings kiosk at every bar , just a matter of time. I know phone is easier but why not. politicians slow everything down, he’ll put a weed kiosk or mabey a Starbucks kiosk machine we dont need to tip these pussys automation rules.

They already exist in just about every sportsbook in Vegas. They also have slot machines in many gas stations and grocery stores so, you are right, probably on the way to gas stations around the country. How about a WalMart gaming lounge. They have plenty of space if they kick out the glasses place, tax prep footage or various other low revenue producing businesses.
